The natural maca powder is obtained from the root tuber of the maca plant. The plant grows in the Peruvian Andes Mountains and is cultivated there at an altitude of 4000 meters. Maca is the only source of income for the farmers of this altitude. The maca root is harvested, chopped and then sun dried. The maca chips are then ground to a fine Maca powder.
