Rainbow bagels with naturally DYE and Recipe

naturally DYE rainbowbagelsThanks Laura for this great IG post credit: @laurastencel

750 g Bread flour (you might need more)
1 spoon salt
360 ml Cold water
2 Spoons of Cane sugar
70 ml Warm water
3 Spoons Instant yeast
bluechai organic food coloring

Into a measuring cup pour warm water and instant yeast, stir gently, let it sit for 5 min.
Next into a mixing bowl add flour, salt, sugar stir, then add water and yeast mixture.
Mix for 10 min on low-medium speed.
Check if dough needs more flour, it should be little bit sticky.
Next separate dough into 4-6 pieces depends on how many colour you want,(I´ve made 4)
they should weight about the same, in my case 355-365g then put them into 4 bowls
covered with flour.
You can either use your hands or mixer, I did both for better results.
Add food coloring into each one and knead
(in my case I´ve used powdered food coloring so it took a bit more time for the dough to be completely
covered). For each dough form a small ball and put into bowls, then cover with a damp kitchen towel and
let rise in a warm place for about an hour.

After an hour has passed Preheat oven to 200 degrees
Flatten each ball into a medium sized rectangle and stack in rainbow order,
Cut the layered dough into 5-6 strips and twist the strip until all the colours are swirled through it.
Form the strip of dough into a long sausage and stick/squash the two ends together to form a bagel.
Cover the bagels and leave them to rise for 20 minutes.
Cover the baking pan with aluminum foil and bake for 20-25 min.
